Some years ago I gave a speech at a game dinner that is worth reprising because it encapsulates the tradition and value of hunting.
The famous Irish playwright Oscar Wilde, if he were alive today, might describe this occasion as “The unspeakable in pursuit of the eatable”.
My confidence in stating this is well based. I am sure many are familiar with his quote from 100 years ago...
